This is why I worship in bars.

Because my God would sit
at the bar.
My God is the one
drinking the highball
and listening to all of the cries.
The masses intoxicated
with sweat and
with sex and
with booze.
And in the end they all
pray,

Please, please GOD,
let this night never be over
let me never age again
let this be the rest of my life
let me keep drinking,
laughing,
singing,
smoking,
fucking,
believing.
let me never die
Amen.
